Fran Grochowski, PRESIDENT,2009, 2010 and temporary NEWSLETTER EDITOR 2010.  Longhorn LoWs Chapter member since October 2007.

RVing is a natural progression to my life. I grew up in and trailer and moving frequently, living in 79 towns before high school graduation. My education includes a Bachelors Degree in Science, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Associate in Farm and Ranch Management.  I served 22 years and four months with the US Navy. I have a daughter, Lisa and a son, Robert.  Three grand-daughters, two grandsons and a great-grand daughter.  I joined LoWs after my husband’s death to meet other singles, who had a love for camping and the outdoors. I love life and all that it brings. I enjoy the outdoor, camping, hiking, sightseeing, dancing, photography, and, of course, traveling to new and distant places.

MARILYN CAMPBELL-- Secretary/Editor2009, Longhorn LoWs Chapter Member since May 2008

I joined the Longhorns for my love of RVing and the outdoors.  My dog, Murphy, and I set out for a new adventure with other singles and seeking new friends and place after RVing with my parents off and on for many years

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and after graduating from school, moved to the bigger city of Dallas for a career in Radio/TV advertising and public relations.  In 1971, I got married and moved to Santa Clara, CA and then from there to San Diego, CA.  A few years later I returned to Dallas.  After working in public relations again and for a Computer company, I went to work for the U.S. Postal service. as a secretary where I stayed for 30 years.  In 2003, I retired from the Postal Service and bought a house in the country near west Fort Worth with my then fiancée.  We bought a fifth-wheel trailer and remodeled a 4800 s.f. house.  We soon found out it was hard to remodel and travel at the same time.  All of the above came to an end in 2008 when I moved back to a condo I had owned since 2000 in Bedford.

My retirement plans now include traveling with the LoW's and visiting with my family in Colorado and East Texas.

JOHN P. HUBBARD, PUBLICITY, CONTACT and EVENTS & PROGRAM MGR. for 2009, 2010.  Longhorn Lows Member since 2007

I was raised in Memphis, TN and then in Effingham, IL.  Upon completing High School, I joined the Army and then the Air Force.  I was able to get two years of college credits and was discharged in Madison, WI. so I completed my college at the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Business Administration.  I spent a number of years in the automobile industry in national fleet sales and the boat manufacturing business.  Since 1990, I have been self-employed in the van conversion business. I work with some personal use mobility units and mostly with hotel shuttle van to national chains across the country.

My personal interest has been deep sea fishing in Mexico.  My largest has been a 500 lb. Blue Marlin.  I spent a lot of time watching most major and college sports with my many friends.  Two years ago I decided to buy a 38 ft. motor home and found one on E-bay.  I flew to Phoenix to pick it up and enjoyed a nice scenic trip home.  It didn't take long to figure out the gas model did not have enough power in the mountains.  I went on the  internet to find fellow single RVers with like interest.  I heard about the Longhorn LoWs and joined them on the first meeting.  We have had many fun outings and found many activities to do at the campouts.  I sold my RV recently and now have a 41 ft. diesel-pusher.  It should take me well into retirement in a couple of years.  There is so much to see and nice people to meet in this great country.  The good Lord willing, I hope to do a lot of traveling over the next few years.  I want to cross the home plate screaming, "WOW, what a ride!

DAVID 'DOC' EDGEWORTH, VICE PRESIDENT 2009, 2010. Longhorn LoWs Chapter Member for more than 10 years and has served in several officer positions.

I was born and raised in Southern Ontario Canada.  I have my MD from the University of Toronto.  My active practice has been in OB and recently as the Medical Director of Tarrant County Jail.  My family and I moved to Texas after the Vietnam War --  "where the money was".  I have four successfully children and never sure how many grandkids.  I am a pilot, and enjoy an occasional fishing junket and maintain a physical fitness program -- not world class, but better than most people my age.  I became a US citizen on January 21, 2004.

My travels have included all the states , except Hawaii.  I've made several visits to Europe and a junket through China.

LoWs is a GOOD thing.  I keep my eye on the opposite sex, but it's hard to find those that might consider me acceptable -- so conversation, camaraderie, food and friends are a big thing.

After retiring from the Army I flew as a commercial aviator for a few years, became a real estate broker specializing in income producing properties.  Sold it and got into trucking and the oil patch.  In the patch I did just about everything from driving a transport, to field rep, customer service rep,, district manager and ultimately a VP for an oil production company and a field servicing company.  I also served as a safety officer in the oil patch.

I initially joined the LoW's in the mid 90's and after a few years dropped out and rejoined later and dropped out again and am currently on my third go around with the club.  I have always been a Longhorn LoW when a member.  I wrote the newsletter for the club for awhile.  I joined for the friendship and shared common experiences and that's what I hope to get out of my membership now.

PHILLIP BOX, Longhorn LoWs Chapter Member about "nine years or so" .

I am a retired mail carrier with three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Prior to joining LoWs, I had lost my wife two or three years earlier and was living on a lake thirty-five miles out in the country.  I was getting pretty tired of my own company and saw an ad for the LoWs club. and contacted them and was told of a Longhorn camp out coming up.  I didn't have much expectation but was pleasantly surprised by what I found.  I have been a member ever since.  I did serve as vice president at onetime. Now I am full timing but still camp with the Longhorns when I am in the area.
